Salvation

How can I be Saved?

If we look around about us we can see, if we’re honest, that the world is in a mess. Wars, famines, floods, pollution, poverty, and violence surround us.

In our own lives many of us face relationship, financial, physical and mental health issues which can cause fear, anxiety and depression.

The bible says that the root of man’s problems is sin.
Sin separates us from God and ultimately causes the problems we see around us. will ultimately cause us to die and spend ternity separted from God.

The GOOD NEWS is that God provided a way out for us.
Jesus was sent to deal with the problem of sin so that our relationship with God could be re-established and that we could have freedom from the effects on sin in our lives.

You many have heard the expressions, ‘To be Saved’ or ‘To be born again’. Well that’s exactly what Jesus came to do; save us from eternal separation from God and to bring life to our dead spirits. He came to give us a new start in life., a clean slate. All we have to do is place our faith in Jesus and let Him lead our lives. work.

Admit

Romans 3: 23 – For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Admit that you have sinned. You need to repent (say sorry and change your ways) for sinning against God, who is Holy and Righteous. When we do this God changes our hearts and regenerates us from the inside out. We are all born sinners which is why we must be born spiritually in order to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. The bad news is that the wages of sin is death, in other words our sin means that we have been given a death sentence, we have the death penalty hanging over our heads, that’s the bad news.

But here’s the good news:
The good news is that the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Ephesians 2: 8-9 – For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith —and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.

Believe

Believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and that God raised Jesus from the dead. This is trusting with all of your heart that Jesus Christ is who he said He was.

Romans 10: 9-10  “That if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

Call upon the Lord

Call upon the name of the Lord. Every single person who ever lived since Adam will bend their knee and confess with their mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord, the Lord of lords and the King of kings.

Romans 14: 11 – For it is written: “As I live, says the Lord, Every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall confess to God.”

Inviting God into your life!

Accepting Christ in your life is an extremely important task. We often feel we will give our lives to the Lord when we have “gotten ourselves together.” Do not worry about that. If you will confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus was crucified and raised from the dead for your sins, you will be saved.

Do not be concerned about what your friends or family say, your salvation must be very important to you. There is also the misconception that once you are saved you must live a perfect life. We have all sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). God helps us to change over time as we follow the commands that Go gives us.

You must remember, Jesus Christ was the only perfect man who walked this earth. When we get things wrong, we must ask for forgiveness and learn from our mistakes.

“Come to me all of you who are tired from the heavy burden you have been forced to carry. I will give you rest. Accept my teaching.[a] Learn from me. I am gentle and humble in spirit. And you will be able to get some rest.”

Matthew 11:28-29
